I am fortunate to have contributed to the success of many of the world’s largest (and smallest) companies.

The solutions I create enable client companies to grow at pace, increase profit, devise new products and services, improve manufacturing, reach greater market penetration, and recruit, train and develop employees to become highly efficient, skilled and capable.

In addition, I have personally led senior teams from a start-up situation to eventual equity release and highly profitable business sales.

Key Contributions:

  • Working with James Caan CBE (ex-Dragons Den) and his private equity investment firm HBI to grow Recruitment Entrepreneur, a £150M t/o business and the fastest-growing investor in recruitment companies internationally.
  • Fully designed and developed 3x unique intranet-based portals from scratch, managing the sales, acquisition, and ongoing performance of 35+ companies across 60 countries.
  • Designed Country Manager and Local Partner LMS platforms with dedicated training content.
  • Used online web-enabled technology to make significant improvements in operational performance.

Key Contributions:

  • Working with a family owned manufacuring business that needed to make improvements across thier entire operation.
  • Redefined business strategy to increase annual growth by at least 20% p/a.
  • Increased manufacturing productivity by 23% through developing LEAN process workflows.
  • Reduced customer debt by £270K by applying rigorous new credit control procedures.
  • Improved sales to order ratios by 24% through staff training and KPI-led CRM process.
  • Saved an estimated £100Kp/a through new quality assurance, improved CAD layouts and stock management.

Key Contributions:

  • Working with a public sector group which comprised of 4x local authorities
  • Delivery of six entirely virtual workshops across ten cohorts to 150 managers over nine months.
  • Specifically designed against improving poor IIP results.
  • Achieved the highest NPS (net promotor scores) recorded by the company for all delegates attending.

Key Contributions:

  • Working with a specialist IT recruitment business to reset thier operational strategy prior to MBO
  • Defined a new digital recruitment operating model.
  • Introduced vertical market segmentation with operational KPIs.
  • Replaced accounts and business systems with ERP cloud-based package.
  • Increased market segment growth by 5% over three consecutive months.

  • Working with a UK based electronics manufacturing business
  • Developed a three-year strategic sales plan.
  • Retrained sales team, improving call/success ratios by 22%
  • Rationalised production efficiency through the adoption of AGILE principles.
  • Revised stock control and production efficiency by outsourcing 40% of manufacturing output.
  • Reduced CAPEX by 27% through weekly supplier reviews.

Supported a further twenty companies, some well known such as Southern Water, Legal & General, Standard Life, MOD, Accenture, NHS, Avalara, and Vodafone, as well as half a dozen less well-known smaller enterprises.

  • Provided solutions across Various roles, including Freelance L&D, Operational Management, Recruitment/Talent, Sales,  Marketing and Business Management. 

Previous Background & Operational Experience:

Director/Head of Leadership, Management & Business Skills Division

The largest privately-owned £300M training company employs 2,500 people across 24 regional offices.

Key Contributions :

  • Line management of 6 Regional Directors (managing 300+ permanent and freelance training staff)
  • Devised and implemented the division’s market expansion from £1.2M to £15M over three years.
  • Increased divisions’ annual gross profit from 21% to 53% of turnover.
  • Executed divisional quality management system for 48,000 delegate training days p/a.
  • Achieved 97% overall delegate satisfaction based on NPS.
  • Executive-level programme management to establish QA’s apprenticeship and HE programmes.
  • Head of Learning for the entire QA business, delivering a 12-month (internal) Manager-to-Leader Academy.

Established a multi-award-winning consulting and training business (Staged Coaching) working internationally with many of the world’s most successful brands (i.e. VISA, Adidas, Oracle, Shell, Glaxo, EMC, Centrica, B&Q, Alcatel, BT, National Grid and Zurich Insurance, plus many UK Public bodies such as the Home Office, DWP, CJIT, MOD and the NHS)

Managing Director –  working with CEO James Caan, CBE –  Responsible for building a new (permanent) technical executive search business within the AMA group.

Corporate Accounts Director – Responsible for developing the first recruitment business totally focussed on ‘Professionals‘ within the retail sector through winning several multi-million-pound accounts with clients such as: Vision Express, Tesco and Boots.

Independent management and business consultancy, providing technical, project and programme management solutions to SMEs primarily engaged in production and manufacturing.

Developed one of the only technical recruitment businesses in the South of England (at that time), which served contract and permanent markets across all engineering, manufacturing and third-party assembly production sectors.

Defining end-to-end client solutions for industrial and commercial digital weighing systems.

Developing hydro-phonic devices for the Royal Navy and commercial fishing fleets.
